The familiar recognizable large scale contemporary portrait is intentionally created to show that he is a Canadian icon.  The close up facial image provokes intimacy with his viewer.  Justin’s assertive and direct look at the viewer suggests the transparency of his personality, and the viewer interacts, identifies, and participates with him.  The spontaneous and animated brushstrokes suggest his  expressive physical energy and his passion for politics.
